Ray Lewis and Brian Urlacher on the same team?

Cowboys nation we knew it all along. This team went out there, played the best game of the season, and beat the best team in the league. Even if you didn't know it, you knew it! Don't let these OUTSIDERS remind us of all the bad things we said about this team. How we wanted Jason Garrett fired. That we were upset that they possibly traded a top 10 pick for Amari Cooper. Don’t give outsiders the satisfaction of seeing the belief in your favorite team finally return after 12 weeks. More importantly, remember you’re not alone. Most of us (me too) were so upset with this team that we lost hope. This team has restored that hope, and I saw something in that Saints game that has me all kinds of Giddy! The Dallas Cowboys have one of the most athletic defenses in all of football. No, athleticism isn’t all about how fast you run. Although they have some guys that can fly. Athleticism is all about using the physical talents that you do poses to benefit the scheme. That means i

It only took them 9 weeks?

To say the Dallas Cowboys season has been a disappointment is an understatement. I’ve heard their season compared to everything from a roller coaster ride to jet lag. Wins haven’t come easy for the Dallas Cowboys and I think as fans we’ve taken for granted how good the NFL season is. We get caught up in our lofty expectations for our teams (super bowl or bust), that we can’t appreciate their success. I subscribe to the camp of if I’m going to pile on this team when they play bad. Then I have to praise them when they play well. All isn’t lost in Cowboys nation. I just want to put it out there, somebody has to win this weak ass NFC East division. The Washington Redskins are not a good football team. They were able to force 3 turnovers and still lost the game. On top of that lost their starting QB. At one point it appeared that the Skins had a legit defense. Notice I said appeared! Their front 3 is tough. Those linebackers are suspect in coverage, and their secondary is patc

Amari Cooper?

When will this rollercoaster ride end Cowboy Nation? Just when it “appeared” as if the Dallas Cowboys could turn the corner on their season. They go to Landover MD and lay an egg!          I'm not talking about their usual bad performances. When the offense looks terrible for 3 quarters only to try and save the day in the 4th quarter. I'm talking about playing for first place in the division, and having 7 points through 3 quarters terrible.          Fans can't seem to crack the enigma that is the Dallas Cowboys offense. I have news for you neither can the Cowboys front office. In an attempt to “try” and save the season, the Cowboys acquire Amari Cooper…………. That loud crashing sound was me falling out the chair laughing at this. You're team is falling apart at the seams and the only thing you can think of is grabbing headlines, Jerry. Really? That had to be the only reason they made this trade.           What is Amari Cooper going to do that these other bum re

Fixing the Cowboys offensive problems through three weeks

The Dallas Cowboys have had a tough three weeks to start the 2018 season. I think that’s putting it lightly. This offense has been god awful. It’s to the point where it’s hard to watch Cowboys games. I would like to see them look like a competent team at some point this season. It would be nice to see them fly up and down the field the way other teams in the league do. Seeing Dak have 4 seconds to allow these WRs time to uncover would be nice, but it just doesn’t work like that in Dallas. The Cowboys are out coaching themselves and it’s infuriating. How does a team that prides itself on running the ball get a great day from its star running back and still only muster 13 misley points? He only had 16 carries that's how. Zeke averaged 7.9 yards against the Seahawks and only had 16 carries. He is averaging 5.7 yards per carry for the entire season and hasn’t seen 20 carries in a single game yet. Chris Carson carried the ball 32 time for 102 yards. Aside from some mental lapses i

Why The Cowboys need Taco to Develop?

The theme for the Dallas Cowboys 2018 season should be DEVELOPMENT! This is a team that desperately needs its young players to become special talents in the NFL. No players development is more important to the Dallas Cowboys than Taco Charlton. Taco Charlton was the Cowboys 2017 1st round pick. There were a ton of question marks surrounding Charlton coming out of college. Would his athleticism be good enough to make an impact in the league? Will his lack of a pass rush repertoire hinder his progression at the next level? Can he learn to utilize that big frame and be the defensive linemen that NFL organizations covet? After one season all those question marks still remain. The Cowboys better hope Taco Charlton can begin to check off all those questions this season. Charlton wasn’t drafted to be the Cowboys bookend pass rusher. Bookend pass rusher being the guy you can count on for 12+ sacks a season. Some fans will say, “ why draft a guy in the first round if you

Could this be the most Talented Cowboys Defensive Unit in Years?

The age-old debate of talent vs coaching, is playing tug a war with this Dallas Cowboys team. The last time the Cowboys had a top 5 ranked defense (in both points and yards allowed) was 2003. The defensive standouts from that unit were, La’Roi Glover, Roy Williams, Darren Woodson, Dexter Coakley, and Greg Ellis to name a few. They were also coached by one of the greatest coaches in NFL History, Bill Parcells. That defensive unit had great talent and a great coach. Rob Marinelli is regarded as a very good defensive coach. He routinely gets the most production out of average players. Guys like George Selvie are able to produce 7 sacks in a season, Jason Hatcher is able to put up 11 sacks, Jeremy Mincey racks up 6 sacks, and Rolando McClain is able to look like an all pro. The themes from all of his defensive units are high energy and high effort. The question can be asked what is Marinelli capable of, when given some extremely athletic and talented young pla

What to Expect for Zeke in 2018

Many Cowboys fan wonder what does it mean to be Dak Friendly? All offseason the newest headline grabber coming out of the Cowboys camp is this whole “Dak Friendly” offense and how the Cowboys are now “Dak Friendly.” Personally , I think it means that the Cowboys have finally bought into having Dak Prescott as their Franchise quarterback. Dak Friendly just means the Cowboys are building the offense around Prescott's strengths. In 2016, Dak’s rookie year, we saw the Cowboys have great success. The team finished with the #1 seed in the NFC and ranked in the top 10 on offense. Much of that success was had without the presence of a true number one wide receiver. Dez Bryant missed four games and was in and out of the lineup with a number of different injuries. Dez Bryant still made the pro bowl that year even though Cole Beasley led the team in targets, receiving yards, and receptions. In fact that year Dez was third in targets and receptions behind Beasley and Wit

Dallas Cowboys Off-season!!!

I ts been a little while since I sat down and written a blog about the Dallas Cowboys. The way they finished the season, missing the playoffs, was a heartbreaker. Watching the Eagles win the super bowl was the stick of dynamite to finish off my heart. Up until now, I hadn’t really much to say about the Dallas Cowboys.             Even though this team broke my heart (for the 10 th time… or more) I still love them and I’m going to follow the moves they’ve been making his offseason. With that said, I will admit I truly love what the Cowboys were able to do this offseason. This team struggled with consistency last season. Part of that was because of the suspension of Zeke. The other part was not having a plan B for when Zeke served his suspension. It was as if this team never considered the possibility of Zeke missing a single game. Compounding the absence of Zeke was the often-injured Sean Lee, being often-injured! Making the defense more inconsistent without the best play
