Boys v Packers..... Must see 2017

Cowboys fans always expect the most of their team. Yes, we may be looking at our team through blue and silver colored glasses. Doesn’t change the fact that the Dallas Cowboys are one of the most talented teams in the NFL. The NFL network recently did their top one hundred player rankings (based on the players opinion), and the Cowboys had seven players on that list. If you do the math, the Cowboys accounted for 7% of the player on the list! Only one of those seven players came from the defensive side of the ball. That is also 32% of the Cowboys starting depth chart (22 players). It’s easy to see why the Cowboys fan base is so excited.
After a very successful 2016 season the expectations are, sky-high for this year’s Cowboys team. Dak and Zeke are going into their second season. The Cowboys had a very solid offseason, and they will be returning all the same players on the offensive side of the ball. This success has also garnered them the first place schedule for the NFC East. That means the Cowboys will be playing the first place teams of the NFC Conference from last season. We are going to see many good matchups with the Cowboys. Which should equate to some very entertaining football this season. There is one matchup that I’m most excited to see and that’s the one against the Green Bay Packers!

The Cowboys and Packers have had some very recent history. In 2014 the Packers put the Cowboys out the playoffs in the divisional round. This was the Dez Bryant catch or no catch game. The Cowboys were able to beat the Packers in the regular season in 2016 but when the games matter most, the Packers have had the Cowboys numbers.

The Packers ended the Cowboys season last year in the divisional round of the playoffs. The rookie quarterback Dak Prescott lead the Cowboys to a game tying field goal late in that game before Aaron Rodgers made an amazing throw to put the Packers in position to win the game on a field goal. That game left a sour taste in the mouths of Cowboys fans and I want to see how these Boys respond. I want to see that this game left a sour taste in their mouths as well. I hate to play the, “they should have won game;” because there are games that the Cowboys won that they could’ve lost. This game was a very hard fought game that came down to one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history making one of the greatest throws in history. When they meet October 8, 2017, I expect fireworks.

Five keys to beating the Broncos 2017

I would call the Cowboys week one performance against division rivalry New York Giants, a good start to the season. The one thing we know about the NFL is that things change week to week. As fans we have to try and not overact to anything we saw in week one. The Cowboys ability to wear a defense down is no mirage. This offensive line is good and with La’el Collins at right tackle, it may be better than last season’s offensive line. Listen Doug Free was a good tackle for the Cowboys his entire career. Collins has the ability to be a force on the right side, and maybe take over for Tyron on the Left if he continues to struggle with injuries and has to call it quits. I’m not pushing Smith out the door but more and more football players are choosing to walking away in decent physical and mental shape.             The Cowboys were able to ti...

Five Keys to beating the Chiefs!!!

I must admit that I’m most excited about this Chiefs game, than any other game the Cowboys have played this season. Beating the Redskins was bitter sweet; because they weren’t supposed to be good this year. I thought the Cowboys would roll the Broncos, but they laid an egg. The Packers have put the Cowboys out the playoffs the last two times and I was excited about seeing that game. There is something different about this Chiefs game. It feels a lot like the Steelers game from last season.             Remember when everyone said the Cowboys couldn’t beat the Steelers at home, they’re too young. The Steeler had the veteran QB, the star receiver, the star running back, and the home field advantage. The only difference between the Steelers last season and the Chiefs this season is the home field advantage. The Chiefs have the veteran QB in Alex Smith, who is an MVP candidate. Their star rece...

R-E-L-A-X Cowboys fans!!!!!

Cowboys fan are you ready to plant your feet firmly on the ground now? The Cowboys have high expectations set for them in 2017, and rightfully so. They won 13 games last year. Last year the rookies looked great and the thought is that they would come in more experienced. They beat the one team that swept them last season. Everything has been going right for this Cowboys team and now they finally have some adversity to face.         When everything goes your way and things appear to be easy, you begin to read the press clippings. The fans start shouting "Super Bowl" loud enough for everyone to hear it. These players and this coaching staff needed a wake up call. The Cowboys had a lot of turnover, this offseason,  on the defensive side of the ball. You had to be insane or delusional to think that this Cowboys wouldn't struggle at times this season. The defense was already bad, throw in 4 rookies and a lackluster pass rush and y...
