Why I love the Cowboys

It was 1989 and the Dallas Cowboys were coming off a 3-13 record in 88. Jerry Jones has just bought the team and his first move was to fire head coaching legend Tom Landry. A move that didn't go over well with the fans. Jones knew it would take drastic changes to get the Cowboys back to their winning ways.
Jones choice at head coach was former college teammate Jimmy Johnson. Johnson had been a successful college coach and was an excellent talent evaluator.
Fast forward to 1995, three super bowls later, to the time that I was fascinated by the very entertaining Cowboys. I was 8 years old when the high stepping Dieon Sanders, the high flying tough catch making Michael Irvin, and the ever consistent Emmit Smith captured my fandom. It was hard not to be come a fan.
22 years later I'm still waiting for the Cowboys to get back to the glory years. I love them more now than I did in 95.

How to make a Return Sean Lee?

I was born in the 80s. That means that I lived through the greatest era of wrestling, the 90s-2000s. We don't have enough time in one blog to go over all the things that era of wrestling got right. One thing they did exceptionally well was wrestler returns. The Cowboys could steal a page out the WWF (now WWE) playbook as it pertains to Sean Lee's return. Daily build up, pyrotechnics, and a heel! Every great return needs a heel. Stings heel was Hollywood Hogan for goodness sake!         Who better a Heel than the Philadelphia Eagles? The defending super bowl champions (🤮🤮🤮). The team whose fans cheered when Michael Irvin laid motionless on his back (something I will never forget). They got the title but it feels like they cheated, like they got outside interference. It just feels like we need a good guy in this situation. Somebody to come from the back and give the fans hope that all good will prevail. The someone is Sean ...

Cowboys lost to Rams.... Defense!!!

If you're reading this expecting me to bash the Cowboys defense stop reading now! The Cowboys have a struggling defense but that shouldn't be a surprise to anybody. The only way to build a championship team in today's NFL is to hit on some draft picks.  The Cowboys have invested a ton of money on the offensive side of the ball. They still have to pay Zach Martin this season. Also consider that they will have to pay Zeke and Dak at some point very soon. The only way to improve this defensive unit is via the draft. Look on the bright side, the Cowboys could be paying $200 million to defensive players and be sitting at 0-4 like the Giants.         Staying with the money aspect for just a second. Demarcus Lawrence (DLaw) and David Irving are up for contracts after this season. Lawrence was leading the league in sacks coming into week 4. Chances are they will only keep one of them. Byron Jones, a...

Five Keys To Beating the Giants 2017 wk1

Ezekiel Elliot has pulled a Tom Brady and he will be playing for the Cowboys this entire season. Giant’s players have been beating on their chest, wishing Zeke plays, and acting tough. Be careful what you wish for! George Forman wanted Ali to stand in front him and not dance around. Eight rounds later he wished he didn’t fight Ali. On Sunday night, the Giants will wish they never wished for Zeke to play, or played the Dallas Cowboys.             The Dallas Cowboys take on the hated division rival New York Giants. It seems like the NFL benefits greatly from putting these two teams against each other to start the season. Cowboy’s vs Giants is always an entertaining match-up and this year will be no different. Zeke’s suspension is on hold for the time being, Odell Beckham’s ankle is making it hard for him to practice and he might not play. Brandon Marshall’s shoulder has been bothering him s...
